Gone Fishin'
Underwater, without oxygen, with a sharp object, and sometimes with a giant piece of shark bait on the end of your spear. Crazy fuckers.
Beautiful photographs by Kanoa Zimmerman.
Thx to Jay Carroll at One Trip Pass for the turn on to Zimmerman.

Monumental
If you haven't seen it, see it.
p.s. - Nearly the entire soundtrack is made up of songs from The Fruit Bats first album. A perfect companion to the documentary.

Uncle John
I just watched a great Smithsonian Channel show called "Play on John: A Life in Music" - a documentary on the life and work of John Cohen. Cohen is a filmmaker, artist, musician, and photographer who was one of the first to capture a young Bob Dylan (among other Beats) on film. And perhaps more important than his photographic work (though stunning in its beauty), his work as a musicologist helped form the Folk Music Revival of the 50s and 60s and brought such luminaries as Ralph Stanley, Doc Watson, Mississippi John Hurt any many more from the rural hills and farms of the South to the big stage in New York City. Quite an impressive life.

These beautiful graphics are all part of a great looking new clothing line I saw in Vegas last week. We'll have their stuff at STAG next Spring.

In Sequence
Those of you who've dined with me before know I have some weird thing for taking pictures of what I eat. Especially of the good stuff. I usually don't document the entire ingestion process, but sometimes that's a good time as well. Below you'll find the disappearance of the best steak sandwich on Earth. She can be found at Cafe Habana on the corner of Prince and Elizabeth in NYC.
Speaking of, would someone please, please, please open a Cafe Habana in Austin. It would kill it.
