Art in Progress

Or is it art already? Owner of Uncommon Objects and assemblage artist Steve Wiman asked me to come check out some his new work yesterday, and I excitedly obliged. Aside from his thriving antiques business, Steve is an extraordinary collector of color-coded objects - picking them up all day every day in places high and low, then piling and sorting and piling and sorting - eventually transforming them into unusual assemblages to be displayed far and wide. The piling and sorting is amazing art in and of itself, so instead of snapping shots of some of his finished pieces, I captured the details and color groupings of some of his in-progress work.
